Two Carr Hill students spent a week of their Easter break training at a European swim camp with their club Blackpool Aquatics.

The week included six hours of training each day, both land and pool based, and was an opportunity for Year 8 Ella and Year 10 Rebecca to improve their swimming techniques.

Ella and Rebecca were joined by 26 other members of their club and took part in a range of different sessions throughout their time in Mallorca.

Ella, who has been swimming for six years and trains for 10 hours a week, said: “The best bit of the trip was improving my swimming techniques through races, diving and more. I’m hoping that what I’ve learnt will help me with upcoming competitions too.”

Rebecca, who has been swimming for 12 years and had the opportunity to swim in the National Arena Team A and the sub league for her swimming club in 2017/18, said: “I went to the swim camp to gain experience, build my confidence and meet new people. We also got to enjoy free time and go to the beach.”
