A group of Carr Hill’s music students travelled to the city of Liverpool to visit the famous Beatles Story and The British Music Experience.

Visiting the Beatles Story gave students the chance to follow the incredible journey of four young, liverpudlian musicians from humble beginnings who became one of the most famous bands in the world- The Beatles.  This was followed by a trip to the British Music Experience which tells the story of British Music, from 1950 to the present, through costumes, instruments, performance and memorabilia. Whilst at the museum students also had the chance to take part in a workshop learning about how pop culture has affected music. Students also tried out the Gibson Interactive Studio which allows people to learn and play on a whole range of instruments and take virtual lessons from famous musicians from different bands.

Music teacher Mr Brown said: “This trip was a fantastic opportunity to learn more about, arguably, the most famous band in the world. The Beatles rise to fame across the world was incredible and it was all down to the unique music they created. It’s a fantastic example of how music can change anyone’s life and something that I hope inspired our students. The British Music Experience gave our students the chance to learn interactively and develop their existing musical abilities in a fun and new environment.”
