Carr Hill High School Dance Academy have performed at their 10th Wyre and Fylde Dance Festival alongside primary and secondary schools from across the area.

The event, which raises funds for charity via ticket sales, had a theme of ‘celebration’ this year. Carr Hill students decided to celebrate seven years since the school’s dance academy was formed and recreated the first ever Dance Academy piece which the original members performed back in 2011. The performance, which is entitled the Tropics, is based on the idea of the rainforest and all the different species that live there together and interact with each other. The piece was inspired by David Attenborough.

Dance Teacher Miss O’Connor said: “The Dance Academy members did a great job today and did justice to the very first piece of choreographed work in the academy’s seven year history. We are always delighted to be a part of this event celebrating dance with other local schools whilst supporting a charitable cause.”
