Year 7 students are invited to enter Carr Hill’s short story competition as part of the school’s We Are Reading initiative. The winners of the competition will have the opportunity to meet famous authors including Non Pratt, Martin Griffin and Alan Gibbons when Carr Hill High School hosts its reading festival in February 2018.

Students are being asked to write a story of no more than 500 words in a genre of their choice. Full details were provided to Year 7 in their assembly today but should students need any further information please speak to English teacher Miss Gardner. Year 7 have until Friday 16th November to submit their entries.

Assistant Headteacher Mr Morton said: “We hope lots of Year 7 students will get involved in this competition. The prize is an opportunity to meet some fantastic authors and hear more from them about how they became authors and how you could too. “
