50 students are about to bring to life the world famous American rock comedy musical the Little Shop of Horrors. Students and staff began rehearsals for the show in the summer and have spent 150 hours learning lines, designing sets, choreographing dance routines and more.

The show, which is a three night production, runs from Wednesday 14th- Friday 16th November and was selected by the Performing Arts Faculty because of its quirky, dark comedy and doo-wop and rock ‘n’ roll-infused show tunes.

Performing Arts Faculty Leader Mrs Waldron said: “We are all so excited to deliver this production as the Little Shop of Horrors is like nothing we have done before as a school. It’s such a fun and different show and it has allowed our students to show creativity with no bounds. The performances, the set design, the costumes and the production of this show are up there with the best in the history of our school productions. Myself and the rest of the performing arts team are incredibly proud of what our students have achieved and we cannot wait to show our audiences in a few weeks!”

Little Shop of Horrors is about a meek and clumsy flower shop assistant, called Seymour, who pines for his co-worker Audrey. During a total eclipse, he discovers an unusual plant he names Audrey II, which feeds only on human flesh and blood. The growing plant attracts a great deal of business for the previously struggling store. After Seymour feeds Audrey's violent boyfriend, Orin, to the plant after his accidental death, he must come up with more bodies for the increasingly bloodthirsty plant.
