88 students from 10 local primary schools took part in a girls' football tournament at Carr Hill High School.

The event was part of a series of regular activities organised for local primary schools with the help of Carr Hill's student Sport Leaders. After a friendly, yet competitive day, students from St Michael’s were announced as the 2018/2019 champions, with Newton in second place and Ribby with Wrea in third place. The 6-aside games were played across five pitches with Carr Hill’s Sports Leader taking charge of the warm ups and undertaking refereeing duties.

PE Teacher and Sports Partnership and Academies Officer said: “Well done and thank you to all the girls who took part in the tournament. Everyone played to the best of their ability and showed real sportsmanship. Congratulations to the team from St Michael’s who beat some tough competition to be crowned the winners of the tournament.  Thank you also goes to our student Sport Leaders without whom I would not be able to run this and other primary school partnership events.”
