Nine students have been awarded grades varying from 1 to 5 following music tuition in school last academic year. Students sat exams for grades in guitar, flute, clarinet, tenor horn and vocal. The two students who sat vocal exams achieved distinction grades whilst five merits and two passes were also awarded. The exams included Trinity Rock & Pop, LCM Musical Theatre Grade and ABRSM. Pupils across all year groups sat exams following tuition throughout the 2017/2018 academic year.

Music teacher Mr Brown said: “Congratulations to Harry, Ethan, Amelia, Abigail, Sean, Jessica, Bethany, Kira and Jasmine who were awarded grades over the summer. Learning an instrument or undertaking vocal training is something which takes commitment and dedication. Achieving a grade, at any level, is a challenge and the exams require students to stay calm under pressure to deliver an impressive performance. Well done to all.”
