Carr Hill Sixth Form Centre students have achieved 100% High Grades across all vocational subjects and an overall Pass Rate of 98% in all subjects. In addition to this, the sixth form's overall average grade is up from a C+  to a B and the average point score is up from 93 to 118.

Carr Hill Sixth Form Centre students who studied vocational courses in Business Studies, Media Studies, Sport and Health and Social Care have all been awarded grades Distinction*-Merit. Further to this, 77% of students studying on vocational courses achieved a Distinction/Distinction*.

 

A-level results were also pleasing with 100 percent Pass Rate on the majority of courses. In addition to this, all students who completed Art, Computer Studies, Further Maths and History A-Levels achieved High Grades.

 

Headteacher Mr Andrew Waller said: “The results our students have achieved in both vocational and academic courses is a reflection of the effort they have put in over the last two years. On behalf of everyone at Carr Hill we would like to congratulate our students for their well-deserved success and wish them all the best for their future. Many students are leaving our Sixth Form having spent seven years of their lives at Carr Hill and we have every confidence that they do so with skills, knowledge and qualifications to go on to do well in the next stage of their lives.”  

 

Head Girl Eliza achieved Distinction Star, Distinction Star, Distinction in Performing Arts and a B in Art. Eliza said: “I worked really hard and I'm pleased with my results as they are better than I expected. The teachers here have supported us every step of the way from our first day in Year 7 right up to collecting our results today.”

 

Fellow student Kelsey has achieved the grades she needs to begin a social work course at the University of Central Lancashire. Kelsey said: “Everyone was worried this morning. I think it’s natural- you worry about your results, your friend’s results but in the end we’ve all done well.”
