Year 8 student Evie enjoyed a day of celebrations as she was crowned the Holy Trinity Church’s rose queen-elect at Freckleton’s annual club day.

Evie was elected by the church committee due to the contribution she has made to the church community since she started Sunday school seven years ago. As part of her role Evie will represent the church at various events over the next twelve months.

Of her role Evie said: “It’s nice to feel you are doing something good to represent your village. It is also a chance to show others, outside of the church and village community, the positive things that are happening.”

Headteacher Mr Waller said: “It is great to see our students making a positive contribution to the local community and I would like to congratulate Evie on her role as the Rose Queen.”
