Pupils at Carr Hill have taken part in the ‘Let Them Loose ‘campaign run by the English and Media Centre in conjunction with National Writing Day.

Students were given the opportunity to write something that will never be assessed or marked in any way as the campaign is all about young people having the chance to write simply for the joy of it.

Pupils were free to write about anything they liked and were given the choice of a number of images for inspiration. They were also given a series of phrases to help with a starting point. The students chose to write short stories, autobiographies, poetry, film scripts and more.

Head of the English Faculty Mrs McDonnell said: “We were delighted to be involved in this campaign as it was an opportunity for students to be creative and write freely. The writing created during the day has been a joy to read.”
