Apollo, Ceres, Juno, Mercury, Minerva and Poseidon battled it out at Sports Day 2018. The six colleges went head to head in the last ever inter-college sports day with students from Year 7 to Year 10 taking part in a range of track and field events.

Pupils took part in field events including the triple jump, the shotput and the javelin and took to the track for races including the 100 meter sprint.  The day finished with the ever popular college tug of war. Students also had the chance to enjoy music and a range of games in between cheering on their peers.

Current champions Juno College will be hoping to take the final title when the results are announced at this year’s Sportsmans Dinner but there is tough competition from the other colleges.

Head of PE Mr Haydock said: “Our students put in some great individual and group performances and showed sportsmanship throughout the day. It was a close competition again this year and we look forward to announcing the 2018 Champions in a few weeks’ time. Thank you to all the students and staff involved.”
