The Pop Art project involved Year 8 students researching Pop Art then designing their own brand name, logo and visual images which were inspired by Pop Art, these designs were transferred to 3D packaging including boxes of fries, burger boxes and cans of pop.

The students' work was then shared with the Tate Gallery. Staff were impressed with the students' creativity and the gallery’s Education Officer, Deborah Riding, said: “Please do congratulate your students on a super project. They have really embraced the bright and playful aspects of pop art and used the ideas of Roy Lichtenstein in an effective way in their packaging designs. Lovely to see our exhibitions inspiring a new generation of artists and designers!”

Art Teacher Mrs Williams said: “Through promotion of this exhibition at school some of our students visited the gallery with their families and were further inspired in the Pop designs taking place in class. As a result students created some fantastic pieces of artwork. The students were thrilled that their talents were recognised by such a prestigious gallery. We hope to use the work they have created for a display in school.”
