A group of Year 8 students have been taking part in a series of activities at the residential outdoor education centre in Lancashire.

The pupils took part in canoeing, low ropes course, leap of faith and team building challenges over the course of two days. The aim of the trip was to focus on increasing self-confidence, communication skills and team building skills.

The trip was for Pupil Premium students. In September 2015, the school launched the Pupil Premium Promise which outlines the ways in which Carr Hill High School is investing its Pupil Premium to ensure the maximum impact on the academic achievement and non-academic performance of those students who qualify for this funding.  A copy of our Pupil Premium Promise can be found http://www.carrhillschool.com/current/key-information/pupil-premium

Pupil Premium Mentor Mrs Somers said: “The trip was a huge success and a great opportunity for our students to build key skills which they can use in and out of the school environment. Many of our pupils got to try activities for the first time and these new experiences really boosted their confidence which was fantastic to see.”
