Carr Hill Sixth Form Centre staff invited parents, carers and students to attend a talk organised by Higher Education Student Finance. The talk focused on the cost of studying and the financial support available for students starting a course from September 2017.

Information was given about student loans and additional support which can be claimed to help with living and study costs. Those who attended the talk were equipped with the details needed to help make key decisions and prepare for their future. Following the presentation students, parents and carers also had the chance to speak to the Student Finance team on a one on one basis.

Assistant Headteacher (Post 16) Mr Napier said: "Some students worry about how they will manage financially at university, whilst others are unsure of what support they are entitled to. By meeting the Student Finance Team this week students have been able to get answers to all their questions. If any students were unable to attend the talk but have questions about student finance please come and see a member of the sixth form who will be happy to help with any queries."
