Staff at Carr Hill High School & Sixth Form Centre are celebrating having been awarded Secondary School of the Year by Fylde Borough Council. This is the second consecutive year the school has received the award for its sports offer.

In addition to this, the school has been High Commended at the Educate Awards for its communications strategy. Carr Hill High School was shortlisted having impressed following hundreds of entries from schools across Cheshire, Merseyside and Lancashire.

Finally, two students have also been shortlisted by The Blackpool Gazette as part of the All Star Awards 2016. Chloe, in Year 8, has been shortlisted for the Endevour Award which recognises a young person who has shown the greatest commitment to making progress in their chosen sport, possibly overcoming adversity to do so. Whilst Year 13 Jess has been shortlisted for the Unsung Hero Award. This award is given to an individual of any age whose outstanding efforts and commitment have helped others to enjoy sporting activity to the maximum and whose contributions have been most valuable to clubs, individuals or the wider community.

Headteacher Mr Waller said: “It is great to hear that the efforts of staff and students are being recognised both in and outside of the school community. Congratulations to all those who have been acknowledged."
