Year 8 student Alicia recently celebrated success at the North West Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition earning 1st place with her Group Hoop Routine and 2nd place with her Individual Ball Routine.

Alicia, who trains for eight hours every week, has been to a number of competitions and competed in the North West Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition gaining 3rd place with her Individual Ball Routine- meaning she achieved a personal best this year. Alicia trains with her coach, who puts the routines together, three times a week and is already looking forward to her next competition in February 2017.

Alicia, who hopes to be a gymnastics coach in the future, said: "I enjoy gymnastics because it is challenging but fun too. I'm proud of what I have achieved at the competition and I hope I can do just as well at the one next year too."
