Sixth Form and Year 11 students were given the opportunity to visit the school’s annual Freshers' Fair on Friday.

Each year the sixth form invites external and internal organisations to speak to students about education, career and volunteer opportunities. This year pupils had the chance to speak to representatives from top universities including Edge Hill and Uclan to find out more about course options available upon finishing their A-Levels.

National Citizen Service and YMCA were amongst the visitors talking about extra-curricular opportunities whilst representatives from the army occupied just one of the many stands devoted to providing Post 18 careers.

The Freshers' fair also included internal organisations with the sixth form committee on hand to discuss the ways in which students can have a positive impact on their sixth form. Other internal organisations included the charity committee, Sporting Elite, Public Speaking and Debating and more.

Assistant Head teacher, Mr Napier, said:“The Post 16 Freshers' Fair was a great success this year and I would like to thank the organisations and staff involved. This event is just one of the many ways we work with our students to ensure they are given plenty of information about the options open to the now and in the future. We were fortunate to have some excellence organisations attend the event and I know our students will make the most of opportunities made available to them.”
