Over the last 12 months students and staff have been fundraising for Chilli Children Trust and Mission4Water raising an incredible £2,500.

The school has organised various fundraising activities and launched numerous initiatives to help reach this impressive target.  The school hosted lots of raffles, ‘Guess the weight of the cake’ challenge and encouraged people to put their loose change in a collection well. Donations were also made via the school’s non-uniform day, the staff dance and the summer concert.

Mission4 Water is a charity which helps to provide a safe water supply for people living in Uganda whilst Chilli Children Trust is a small charity working to improve the lives of thousands of children in Uganda. The Project Team help orphaned and disabled children in four districts at the very South Western end of Uganda, bordering Rwanda and DR Congo.

Apollo College Leader Mrs O’Donnell has been organising and overseeing all activities since the fundraising began. She said: “We are delighted to be in the position to be able to present this donation to be shared between these two charities. The fundraising programme has been as beneficial to us as a school as it has been for the two charities. Throughout the fundraising our pupils have been able to develop their creative, organisational, communication and team working skills whilst doing something which will make a difference to others.”
