Students and staff at Carr Hill Sixth Form Centre were celebrating today as they marked another year of top class results.

Every pupil who completed a vocational course passed, with the average grade an impressive Distinction. Students sitting A-levels also achieved highly with a 99 percent pass rate across the Sixth Form.

Whilst the overall picture is impressive, results for individual courses also demonstrate high accomplishments. All students studying Health & Social Care achieved a Di* (Distinction Star) and pupils now plan to head universities to study Nursing, Social Care and Early Years Development.

Some of the best results for A-levels include all students taking English Literature, Chemistry, Art, Photography, Geography and Product Design A Levels achieving A*-C grades. A-level German had a 100 percent A* pass rate and Spanish and Dance A-levels both had a 100 percent A*-B pass rate. Students completing these A-levels have gained places at some of the country’s top universities including York, Edinburgh and Manchester-all of which are part of the prestigious Russell Group.

Assistant Headteacher, Post 16, Mr Graeme Napier, said: “This year our students have, yet again, achieved a collective of results to be very proud of. Across the Sixth Form our pupils have shown that with dedication, and the opportunities available to them at Carr Hill, they can achieve great things. We are pleased to be able to say that our students continue to do exceptionally well in both academic and vocational courses demonstrating that our sixth form can cater for all students whatever their future goals.”

“As with every year, we have seen some exceptional individual results and I’m proud of every one of our students who has worked to the best of their ability and taken advantage of the support, advice and guidance on offer to them.”
