Students in Year 7 and 8 recently sat their first set of pre-public exams and this morning they were able to pick up their results.

Pupils were marked from 9-1 in line with the new GCSE grading system, with many already working at a grade 5 which is considered a good pass for a student in Year 11.

Year 7 and 8s collected their results from the hall and excitedly opened them amongst friends.

Year 7 Bethany gained 4 Level 5s, 4 Level 4s, 1 Level 3 and 3 Level 2s. She said:“I did a lot of revision which has shown me that it  (revision) does work.”

Year 7 Joshua achieved 3 Level 5s, 6 Level 4s, 1 Level 3 and 3 Level 2s. He said: “I’m quite pleased as I didn’t think I’d get so many 5s. I’m most happy about my history grade as I got a level 5 and it's my favourite subject.”

Assistant Headteacher Ms Hilton- Peet said: “Overall all our Year 7 and 8 students have come away with fantastic results. To have pupils as young as Year 7 working at a Level 5 grade is hugely promising for the future.

“The students conducted themselves incredibly well during the exams and their behaviour was excellent. I would like to congratulated them on their results and hope the grades will inspire them to continue to work hard and achieve to the best of their ability.”
