Year 7 students Alicia and Bethany represented Ribby Hall Rhythmic Gymnastics Club in a Rhythmic Gymnastics competition and were placed an impressive 3rd out of 14 groups.

The students represented their club alongside three other girls and competed in the hoop routine at the competition which took place in Stoke-on- Trent. Having impressed the judges the girls will go on to compete in rounds 2 and 3 later this year. The girls train for six hours a week over three days. Alicia has been a gymnast since she was 4 year old whilst Bethany took up the sport around a year ago.

Alicia said: “I’m really proud. We worked really hard for it.”

Bethany added: “We are confident about the next rounds and think we will do quite well if we train loads.”

The girls’ PE teacher Mrs Carroll said: “I’m extremely proud of Alicia and Bethany. They are both talented gymnasts and I wish them every success for the next stage of the competition. Well done girls!”
