Students and staff from Carr Hill High School attended the annual awards having been shortlisted in five categories.

Year 11 student Louis walked away with the Young Scientist of the Year Award, whilst the school was highly commended in the Inspirational Teaching Award category, Unsung Hero Award category, Secondary School Pupil of the Year category and Secondary School of the Year category.

The school was shortlisted amongst other top primary and secondary schools from across Central Lancashire who have shown educational excellence. Head teacher Mr Waller said: “It is a privilege to be recognised alongside some of the best schools from our region. I would like to congratulate Louis for winning the Young Scientist of the Year Award. Louis is a credit to the school and a talented scientist who has contributed so much to Carr Hill’s STEM club. It is also an honour to be highly commended in a further four categories and I thank the students and staff for their contributions which have made this possible”
