A group of Year 7 students have been helping members of St Michael's church to record the ringing of the church bells for historical and training purposes.

Olivia, Lily-Anne, Teigan, Joshua and Kieran all visited the Kirkham church this week to help with the important project. The students had been tasked with documenting everything from the safety procedures to the bell mechanisms and much more. The pupils even tried their hand an ringing the bells- learning first hand just how it’s done.

The trip also gave the students the opportunity to learn about the mechanics of the bells, the clock in the tower and the format to the ringing.

The school has volunteered to film and edit a video for the church to help support a local community project. There are a number of stages to the video and various students from across all years will contribute to the filming, editing and narration of the video throughout the year.
