Year 9 students are commended at the ‘Young Artist of the Year Awards’

Four of the school’s most talented artists have been recognised at the awards which showcases work from pupils from across the Fylde coast.

The awards were held in Blackpool yesterday evening and, having been previously shortlisted, Year 9 pupils Jenny, Ellie, Naomi and Beth were commended for their self-portraits.

 The girls’ work will be exhibited at a gallery at Blackpool and The Fylde College for others to view over the coming weeks.

 Art teacher Mrs Wild said: “The girls were a credit to the school and I’m so proud of their achievement.”
