Year 7 students have recreated the famous Shakespeare’s Globe to mark the 400 year anniversary of Shakespeare’s death.

Pupils in Mrs Gardner’s English class have created mini models of the theatre-which is an international resource dedicated to the exploration of Shakespeare’s work and the playhouse for which he wrote. Popular materials included wood, cardboard and lego whilst others used IT to create their digital models. These designs sat alongside a selection of edible replicas which the class enjoyed at the end of the lesson.

Mrs Gardner said: “It was important to mark the anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death. Shakespeare is widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English Language and his work forms a large part of the English curriculum. The students made such an effort with their models and it was clear a lot of thought had gone in to each design.”
