A group of Geography students have spent the day in the Yorkshire Dales National Park exploring the White Scar Cave and the Dry Rigg Quarry.

The pupils, who took part in the one mile cave walk, were introduced to the science and beauty of the caves. They had the opportunity to see underground waterfalls and streams, flowstone, prehistoric mud pools and much more. The students also visited the Dry Rigg Quarry which is a working gritstone quarry. The quarry creates a stone with phenomenal wearing and skid-resistant properties.

The trip was part of Carr Hill High School's commitment to a national Geography initiative called ‘2016 is the year of field work’. The initiative is about giving students the opportunity to expereince interactive learning environments.
