Carr Hill High School & Sixth Form Centre has launched a school App designed to help communicate instantly and effectively with parents, carers and students.

The App, which is free to use, will enable the school to push instant notifications about changes to after school activities, details about payment deadlines for trips and reminders for key events. Users are also able to view term dates, the latest news, the school calendar and access Carr Hill’s social media accounts.

Headteacher Mr Waller said: “We are pleased to be able to offer our parents, carers and students with

the opportunity to benefit from our school app. We believe that the introduction of the app will serve to further improve communication channels. Whilst we are still using letters and texts to communicate with parents and carers, eventually we hope to completely move to more environmentally and cost effective ways of contact such as the already well subscribed weekly eLetter and the school app.

“Having spoken to parents, carers and students about the idea of the school app, we know that there are a lot of people keen for us to introduce this method of communication as it fits in with their lifestyles. I hope many of you will download the app and find it a useful and current way of staying up to date with school notices and information.”
