The Football Academy’s recent fixtures include their match against Rivington and Blackrod. This was a brilliant match for the academy and there was success all round with goals being scored from Year 11,12 and 13 students. Year 13 Jackson scored a goal and fellow Year 13, Jordan scored two goals. Meanwhile, Year 12’s, Aaron and Matthew both scored alongside Year 11, Ross. Although Carr Hill won the match, Rivington and Blackrod did manage to score two goals ending the match 6-2. The Man of the Match went to Year 13 Jordan, who scored two sensational goals!

The squad for their next match against Lytham St Annes High School was made up of Year 13’s Jordan and Jackson and Academy Captain James. The Year 12’s who played in the match were Matthew, George, Jack, Aaron, Dominic and Tom. Finally, the Year 11’s who played were Oliver, Max, Logan, Ross, Jack, Reiss and Tim. This match was once again a success for Carr Hill. Year 12 Dominic scored one of the goals, while Matthew scored a further two fantastic goals. Furthermore, Year 11 Jack scored a goal too. This gave Carr Hill four goals. However, Lytham St Annes did score one goal. This ended the match 4-1 to Carr Hill. The Man of the Match went to Year 12 Matthew for his fantastic performance.

Football Academy coach, Mr Grady, said: “The team has steadily improved over the season with some excellent performances. These performances include Year 13’s James, Jordan and Jackson, Year 12 Matthew and Year 11’s Max and Logan! In particular those players are always present and are consistent performers!”

Well done to the Football Academy for the hard work that the team is putting in. The amazing performances show that the academy have great chemistry. Finally, a big well done to the coach Mr Grady who has coached the team to success!
