Last week our Year 7 students put in an impressive performance at the Wyre & Fylde Sportshall Athletics competition and this week our Year 8 teams have replicated that success!

The Year 8 girls’ team came in first place at the competition. Their impressive score of 279 was enough to see them win the competition. The Year 8 boys’ team also scored highly achiving a massive 254 points putting them in a very respectable 4th place.  

Teacher of Physical Education and Sports Partnership & Academies Officer, Mr Doughty, said: “Our students put in some fantastic performances at the Sportshall Athletics and their efforts are reflected in the points they have scored. Students in the Year 7 and Year 8 teams have been excellent ambassedors for the school and I’m proud of what they have achived through dedication and teamwork.”  

Congratulations Ben, Linus, Kaelin, Kylise, Aaliyah, Tara, Alice, Megan, Amy, Chloe, Faye, Lawrence, Paul, Harley and Taylor. 

Outstanding individual performances:

Boys:

1st - Standing Triple Jump - Harley - 7.06m

Girls:

1st - Obstacle Relay - Aaliyah, Chloe Eyre, Tara  and Alice - 83.3s

1st - 2-Lap Race - Faye- 24.3s
