Due to demand, the school is once again offering students the opportunity to take part in the tour. Whilst the previous tour was open to academy members, this time students interested in volunteering (who may or may not be a member of one of the academies) are also encouraged to take part in the tour. Pupils who are in Year 11, 12 or 13 in September 2016 are all eligible for the tour.

The tour will include a number of fixtures and performances for academy members, whilst those volunteering will be able to help out at local community centres and soup kitchens. Students will also have the opportunity to stay with a host family and enjoy a number of excursions including sightseeing at Table Mountain and Robben Island.

Sports Partnership & Academies Officer Mr Doughty said: “This is an excellent opportunity for our students to experience the sights and culture of South Africa. I would encourage all pupils to consider the trip as there really is something for everyone. The students who went in July 2014 still talk about their tour and how amazing it was. I’m sure the 2017 trip will be just as incredible.”
