The students, who were in Year 11 during the 2014-2015 academic year, were joined by proud parents, carers, family and friends for the evening. The event recognised every student in Year 11 with each person receiving a certificate to congratulate them on completing their GCSEs.

The whole year awards were followed by the college presentations as each College Leader took to the stage to announce the student they had chosen to receive the ‘Outstanding Contribution to School Life’ award. The College Leaders acknowledged students who had shown dedication to their studies, excelled at extra-curricular clubs and been a positive role model to their peers.

Attendance was also noted during the ceremony with a large number of students gaining certificates for achieving 100 percent attendance during Year 11. Two further pupils, Harry and Megan, were praised and awarded for having 100 percent attendance from Year 7 through to Year 11- a fantastic accomplishment.

The Directors of Learning for each cluster were also invited to the stage to present 'Outstanding Progress' and 'Outstanding Achievement' awards for the whole cluster and individual subjects within their cluster. Recipients of the awards took home a trophy, certificate and a high street voucher.

The school also provided entertainment with former pupil Annabel playing the piano as guests entered the presentation hall and students from Year 7 through to Year 11 performing a variety of songs during the event drinks reception. Later the cast of West Side Story showcased a 10 minute extract from the production.

Headteacher Mr Waller said: “It was a pleasure to be able to acknowledge the achievements of every one of our 2014-2015 Year 11 students. Every year our students achieve wonderful things whether that be in the classroom, on the sports field or in the wider school community.  We believe it is really important to recognise and thank these students for all they contribute to school life. Thank you to everyone who attended.”
