A number of students recently went to the Foodbank to drop off the donation. Due to the volume of food donated the school took a minibus and 10 students to help unload the items.

This is not the first time Carr Hill has supported the Fylde Foodbank and the school intend to help the charity again in the near future.

Linda Nulty, Trustee and Kirkham Centre Co-ordinator of Fylde Foodbank, said: “The Fylde Foodbank is very grateful for the overwhelming response from the pupils and staff at Carr Hill High school and Sixth Form Centre once again. I can assure you it will all be given out and well received by our clients who are struggling at this time. Many, many thanks to you all!”

Assistant Headteaher, Ms McKeon, said: “We would like to thank all the students, their families and our staff. We've had a fantastic response from students and staff throughout the school who clearly appreciate and support the work Fylde Foodbank does."

The Foodbank Centres are located in St Anne’s, at St Paul’s Warton and at the CAB Buildings on Marsden Street in Kirkham. Carr Hill High School not only collects but also acts as a referring agent for anyone in need. This could be as a result of benefit changes, benefit delays, delayed wages or low income but also to provide for child holiday meals when school is closed. Mrs McKeon or any of the Care Leaders can be contacted at any time for a referral.
