The Club, which runs weekly, provides pupils with the opportunity to enhance their spoken and written skills and build confidence. As a culturally diverse school, students from many nationalities are supported by a dedicated team of EAL staff in a number of ways including the extra-curricular club.

The club provides a fun and informal way for students to enhance their understanding of the English language through a range of activities. EAL teacher Mrs Ajiteru, who also supports students during lessons, is responsible for running the Club. She said: “The EAL Club takes place every Friday after school until 4pm. It has only been running for a few months but we have already seen the difference it can make to our students and their confidence levels. I would encourage any students who do not speak English as their first language to come along to the club and develop their skills. It’s a friendly and fun environment and a great opportunity to develop skills.”
