A group of Year 10 students have become a select few to have their work exhibited at the University Centre Gallery at Blackpool and Fylde College.

Carr Hill submitted art work alongside 14 other schools across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre. Organisers received over 100 entries in total and had the tough job of deciding which art work was ‘Highly Commended’. Carr Hill pupils Eleanor, Annellice and Soravi all received this accolade and as a result their work was part of an exhibition at the University Centre Gallery.

The exhibition was open on Wednesday 13th May and Carr Hill staff joined students, who had come to see their work in a real exhibition setting. Art and Photography teacher Miss Wignall said: “I’m so proud of Eleanor, Annellice and Soravi; having work displayed at an exhibition is a huge achievement and a dream come true for many artists. It was wonderful to attend the exhibition and share the success of our students. They are talented artists and I’m so pleased their talent has been recognised.”

Year 10 studnet Soravi said: “I was proud when I saw my work at the exhibition. I was not expecting it and the achievement has definitely made me want to do more drawing work and try to improve my art skills.”
