Hundreds of students are celebrating having received certificates in the Carr Hill College Celebrations. Pupils are recognised for achievements such as 100% attendance and exemplary behaviour.

Six individual college assemblies took place and students from year 7 through to 11 gathered to support their peers. College Leaders praised individuals and gave the reasons for each award before asking pupils to come and collect their certificate.

As each pupil made their way to the front to collect their certificates fellow students and mentors filled the hall with hearty rounds of applause. Students looked proud, surprised and overwhelmed as they collected certificates which were given in recognition of their hard work throughout the year so far. There were other prizes too such as chocolate eggs and vouchers which many students eagerly collected.

Head teacher Mr Waller said: “The college celebrations provide an opportunity to praise and encourage our students. We present certificates in a wide variety of categories meaning most pupils gain recognition in at least one area. I hope that these celebrations will encourage our students to continue to work to the best of their ability for the remainder of the school year so we can mark further achievements at the end of the summer term.”

These College Celebrations are the first of this academic year. A second set of College Celebrations will take place in July and guests are invited to attend these events which mark the achievements of the whole year.
