A group of students recently spent their Saturday performing at a showcase event for pop vocals teacher Christine Davis.

Six pupils took part in the event at the Freckleton Methodist Church and all delivered impressive performances. Year 8 student Beth took to the stage twice singing popular songs Jealous by Labrinth and You Ruin Me by the Veronicas, whilst Year 7 pupil Eve performed in public for the first time. Fantastic performances were also delivered by Year 8 pupil George, Year 7 student Lucy, Year 10 pupil Charlotte and Year 9 student Rebecca.

Music Teacher Miss Dawson accompanied students to the showcase. She said: “Carr Hill pupils shone throughout the showcase; displaying their fantastic vocal talent and professionalism. I’m proud of all the students who took part. We are fortunate to have a number of very talented musicians at this school.”

Year 8 student Beth began singing lessons a few weeks ago and said that the crowd at the showcase was the biggest she had performed in front of yet. She said: “Lots of people came to watch including my mum, dad and sister. I was nervous at first but by the end I enjoyed the performances. I’ve not been singing long but this event has made me think about taking part in some of the school shows.”
