Parents and Carers need to be aware the NUT teaching union currently intends to hold a national strike on Wednesday 26th March. It is in talks with the government which may avoid this.  However, should the strike go ahead it is likely Carr Hill will need to partially close on 26th March. The school will seek to remain open for all students in Year 10, 11, 12, and 13.  Buses will run as normal. Contingency plans are being formulated to ensure students in those Year Groups will have a meaningful and purposeful education even if some of their normal classroom teachers are missing and their day is disrupted. We will not be able to accommodate all 1255 students and will therefore close for Year 7,  8 and 9.

It is possible the strike will be called off and there will be no disruption to Carr Hill.

Parents/Carers should start thinking now about child care arrangements for Year 7 and 8 students on 26th March.  The school apologises for any inconvenience caused.  We will keep you updated as we learn more about the NUT’s intentions, so please keep checking our website.

Thank you for your support of the school in this difficult situation.
