Carr Hill’s U13s girls football team has finished 5th in a regional tournament playing against the best teams in the North West.

The squad has already been crowned the top team in Preston having won the Preston Football League Girls Cup recently. Following this success the team qualified to compete in the regional tournament and managed to achieve 5th place whilst playing against the most talented teams in the North West.

The team has only been training since the start of this school year which makes the achievement even more incredible.

PE teacher Mr Doughty said: “The girls have worked so hard and should be very proud of the ranking they have achieved. They are a talented group of players and I’m sure the successes of this year will be just the start.”

The team train every Tuesday night in the sports hall until 4.15pm. Preston North End coach, Jodi Kerr is currently leading the training sessions, alongside Carr Hill PE teachers. Mr Doughty wants to encourage more students to come along to the club and improve their footballing skills.
