Excited students were sent into a frenzy when a boy band popped into school to play a concert in the school hall.

Reconnected, the 3 piece band made up of Max, Harry and Matt from Manchester played a 45 minute set of their most popular songs to 600 lucky students in a Rewards Concert at Carr Hill High School & Sixth Form Centre.

Students were awarded with Golden Tickets after reaching certain criteria to gain them a place in the exclusive concert. To be a part of the Rewards event students had to get no homework de-merits over the period of a week and have an on-going record of good progress and behaviour within school – chosen by the college mentors.

Reconnected made their first appearance as finalist’s on Britain’s Got Talent in 2010. Since then they have been signed to BBC Dragon’s Den star Duncan Bannatyne’s record label and just finished a 22 city tour of the UK supporting girl band, Little Mix.

Harry Mondryk, band member said: “Touring with Little Mix was great fun and it has been a good way for us to build up our fan base.”

He added: “Coming into schools to perform is absolutely wicked. In the past 6 weeks we’ve done 73 schools, it’s absolutely crazy.

“The best thing is when we see how the audience changes from the start of our set to the end, by the time we get to the last song everyone is so into it. It’s a great feeling.

“Carr Hill High School has been the craziest so far, we’ve had a great time.”

In their success so far from being in Britain’s Got Talent three years ago they have met some exciting people in the music business from ‘SuBo’ to Simon Cowell and in the final of Britain’s Got Talent the boys even met international superstar Usher who actually called the boys mini Justin Bieber’s!

Max Mondryk said: “Meeting Usher was pretty cool and JLS are the nicest artists we’ve met.”

85 students from each college were given golden tickets to see the pop sensations perform their new single ‘One in a Million’, which is released at the end of March, along with a selection of some of their other songs.

Assistant Headteacher, Ms Hilton – Peet said: “The Reconnected concert was a great success and the students absolutely loved it.

“After a hard term of Controlled Assesments, GCSE and A – Level examinations we felt that the students deserved a reward.”
