CELEBRATING success is a popular motto at Carr Hill High School & Sixth Form Centre.

Certificates and prizes were awarded to students in the college celebration assemblies this week. In these, students in Year’s 7 – 11 spent the morning with their colleges and were rewarded for their hard work over the past term.

Certificates were given to students who had had exemplary behaviour, 100% attendance and most improved students amongst others. For some lucky students they were rewarded with chocolate, sweets and even high street vouchers to spend however they choose.

Bronze, Silver, Gold and even some Platinum badges were given to students who had worked hard to earn merits since the start of the school year. These awards are extremely sought after by the students and those who received Platinum badges had received over 300 merits since starting the year last September.

Assistant Headteacher, Ms Hilton – Peet said: “The college celebrations are a chance to formally recognise the hard-work, high standards and caring nature that our students possess.

“The wide range of awards on offer means that a large number of students leave with at least one certificate; whether it’s because of their excellent attendance, exemplary behaviour or academic achievement amongst many others.”

The assemblies are an enjoyable part of each term for the school, enabling staff to celebrate their students’ great success.

Ms Hilton – Peet added: “The celebrations are appreciated by both students and staff alike. Mentors especially enjoy the opportunity to present their award.

“The huge amount of certificates that were awarded in the assemblies is yet another testament to the success of the Carr Hill family.”
