EXCELLENT results are being celebrated after the release of the national school league tables last week.

Students and staff from Kirkham’s Carr Hill High School & Sixth Form Centre were ecstatic to find out that amongst 82 other schools in Lancashire, Carr Hill came in 11th place.

This brilliant score puts Carr Hill above many other schools in the area and is based on our Value Added score, which is calculated on how well students are helped to progress from the start of their time at school until when they leave.

Based on the percentage of students getting 5 A* – C grades including English and Maths, Carr Hill is placed at 24 out of 87 other schools in Lancashire.

The information relased by the Department for Education shows that after persistent hard work from all students and members of staff, at least 70% of students who leave school in Year 11 achieve at least 5 A* – C grades at GCSE level.

Currently our Year 11 students are aiming to achieve above and beyond that percentage when they leave in June.

Assistant Headteacher, Ms Hilton – Peet said: “Congratulations to everyone on this superb result which has come about through a huge amount of hard work, dedication and effort from all staff, pupils and parents.

“Let’s see if we can go even higher next year and be even prouder of our students’ achievements.”
