A group of Year 9 students have visited Milbanke Older People’s Home to spend the morning taking part in festive activities with some of the residents.

The students, who are all studying for a health and social care qualification, made Christmas decorations and played Christmas bingo with the older people before leaving them with signed Christmas cards from the school community.

This is one of a number of trips that Carr Hill students have taken to Milbanke Older People’s Home recently as the school works in partnership to provide both young and older people with the opportunity to spend time together. Health and Social Care teacher Mr Penney said: “We are pleased to be working alongside staff at Milbanke Older People’s Home. The visits our students make help them to give back to their local community, learn from those older than them and gain an insight in to the health care profession. I know the students enjoy taking part in the activities alongside the residents and we will continue to offer experiences like this to as many of our students as we can. I would like to thank Milbanke staff and residents for having us to visit and wish everyone there a Merry Christmas."
