Year 11 student Phoebe and Year 9 student Olivia were part of the team who became British Ribbon Champions, silver medallists for hoop and overall silver medallists at the British Rhythmic Championships this summer.

The competition took place in Liverpool and the team competed against seven other groups in the Juniors category. Phoebe, Olivia and the rest of their team also travelled to Budapest to compete in the Gracia Cup in August. The team won Gold all round and Gold for the ribbon and for the hoop.

Following their success, Phoebe and Olivia have two further national competitions and two British Squad Camps this year.

Phoebe said: “The best achievement of the summer was becoming the British Ribbon Champions because we’ve been working really hard to try to get that title."

Headteacher Mr Waller said: “Congratulations to Phoebe and Olivia on their well-earned achievements over the summer break. It’s a pleasure to see students who show dedication and drive rewarded for their efforts.”
