Former Head Boy Ben Wilson has started his officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst this month.
Ben, who left Carr Hill after seven years in 2018, completed a rigorous selection process which lasted 12 months to gain his place at Sandhurst. Out of the 300 officer cadets starting their army officer training this month, Ben is one of only six millennials. Ben’s journey began at 12 years old when he joined a local army cadets. This provided many opportunities including a six week trip to Canada. It was attending cadets that lead Ben to pursue a career in the army.
Headteacher Mr Waller said: “We wish Ben the best of luck as he begins his officer training at Sandhurst. I’m sure Ben has a bright future ahead and he is a great role model to our current students, particularly those who aspire have a career in one of the forces.”
