Lucy and Holly Tickle have received awards for their athletics achievements whilst representing Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde Athletics Club.
Lucy, in Year 10, and Holly, in Year 7, who have both been competing for the club since they were eight, were recently recognised at their club presentation evening. Lucy received the 2004 Athens Olympic Shield (inspired by Kelly Holmes Athens double Gold) for the best 800m and 1500m joint performance by an U15 girl. Lucy also won the U15 girls Cross Country Championships 2017-2018 title. Holly, who also plays for Blackburn Rovers Football Club, was recognised for her girls U11 third place finish in the Cross Country Championships 2017-2018
Headteacher Mr Waller said: “Congratulations to Lucy and Holly on their achievements as part of the Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde Athletics Club. It’s great to hear about the positive things our students are doing outside of school and share these accomplishments with the wider school community.”
