A group of Year 12 students took part in the Royal Society of Biology’s national Olympiad challenge.

The British Biology Olympiad is open to students in Post- 16 education. It challenges and stimulates students with an interest in biology to expand and extend their talents. It enables pupils to demonstrate their knowledge and to be suitably rewarded with publicly recognised certificates and medals. Students Tansy, Eve, Naomi and Kate completed two 45 minute multiple choice papers, taken over exam conditions. Tansy and Eve were given the Highly Commended award upon completion of the papers whilst Naomi and Kate were given the Commended award.

Assistant Headteacher and A level Biology teacher, Ms Hilton- Peet, said: “I would like to congratulate our students on the results of this challenge. Tansy, Eve, Naomi and Kate performed incredibly well in the tests and have been rewarded by the commended and highly commended awards.”

Tansy, Eve, Naomi and Kate will receive their certificates later this year.
