Elly-May said: “I lost a close friend in the attack and I know a lot of people who were, and still are, affected by that day. I think it was hard for students at Carr Hill because it was so close to home and there were so many people our age at the concert.”
Megan said: “We decided on the Wear it Pink day as a fundraiser as Ariana Grande wears a lot of pink and at the One Love Manchester concert everyone was wearing pink. We think it’s really important to do something positive in memory of the 22 and to do what we can to help their families, friends and other people affected.”
Headteacher Mr Waller said: “Our school community was deeply affected by the tragic event last May and I am proud of the strength our students showed in the days, weeks and months that followed. I would like to thank Elly-May and Megan for coming up with the idea of the Wear it Pink day. It was a huge success and it was great to see so many of our students and staff wearing pink and coming together to raise money and remember.”
