Students from across the school, who have a passion and talent for dance, had the chance to explore their potential through a practical session with a tutor from the CAT programme.  The session, which aimed to develop techniques and creative ability, was open to all pupils interested in exploring the options open to them should they choose to continue to study, or begin working, in the dance industry.

Upon completing the workshop, students are invited to attend a CAT Open Day if they wished to prepare to audition for a place on the Lowry CAT Scheme. The scheme is a part time, pre-vocational course providing access to a high quality training scheme for those who wish to progress to full time dance training.

Dance Teacher Miss O’Connor said: “The workshop was a huge success and it was great to see so many of our students showing their passion for dance. We have some incredibly talented dancers at Carr Hill and I encourage them to attend the CAT open day as it is the next step in the process to auditioning for a place on this scheme. I am organising a trip to the one of the open days on 10th June so any students  who are interest should come and see me to collect a letter.”
