From orienteering to the ‘Leap of Faith’ and canoeing there was an activity for everyone to enjoy as year 7 students headed to Borwick Hall for two days of outdoor adventure.
There was an air of excitement as the 70 students boarded the coaches and headed off to the 16th Century Manor House near Carnforth. With an action packed schedule students and staff alike were keen to get involved with a plethora of activities designed to give students an opportunity to learn new skills, hone existing ones and build their confidence, resilience and new friendships, as well as creating team building opportunities outside of the classroom.
Throughout the two days students took part in a night walk, orienteering, caving, a rocky ramble, canoeing, pond traverse assault course, leap of faith, climbing wall and indoor caving tunnels.
PE Teacher and trip organiser Mr Doughty said, “Once again the trip was a roaring success. I am always blown away by how the students all get stuck in, often conquering their fears, and really enjoy the activities. We hope that as well as all the fun we had the students also gained a greater confidence and learned skills which they will be able to take into their everyday lives. I’d like to thank all the staff who came along to support the trip and of course our students for being such a credit to themselves, their families and our school.”
