It’s the first time Carr Hill have had the opportunity to host an international sports team and it gave students who went on the South Africa Tour the flip side of what they experienced over the summer. Two rugby fixtures were played on Tuesday afternoon by a mixture of Year 10, 11, 12 and 13 students. The competition was rife, with both teams putting in tremendous effort, but when the final whistle went, it was Balmoral who came out victorious.

Balmoral coach Mr O’Connolly said, “We have really enjoyed spending time at Carr Hill and are very thankful to the host families and Carr Hill staff who have looked after us so well during our time in Kirkham”.

Mr Penney, who heads up the Rugby Academy said, “It was a privilege to host Balmoral College.  We’re proud of the effort all the boys put into the matches and were impressed by the standard of the performances.  The Sports Academies are continuously looking for ways to provide our students with the best possible experiences and we look forward to hosting other schools in the future”.
